Application Status PM Laptop Scheme

  • Applied:
    The student has successfully applied.
  • Verified:
    The university has checked and confirmed the student’s details.
  • Disapproved:
    The university rejected the application due to incorrect details, misconduct, or other issues.
  • Accepted for Merit List:
    The student’s record is correct and will be considered for the merit list.

Merit Status

  • Selected:
    The student has been chosen to receive a laptop based on merit.
  • Not Selected:
    The student didn’t meet the merit criteria or basic eligibility requirements.
  • Asset Issued:
    The student has already received a laptop in a current or past phase. If there’s an error, contact your university’s focal person.
  • Waiting:
    The student may still get selected if a chosen student is disqualified. This status gives hope but no guarantee.
  • Not Eligible:
    After checks and corrections, the student does not meet the scheme’s eligibility rules.
  • N/A:
    The student’s application has not yet been included in the merit list process by the university.

Steps to Apply for the PM Laptop Scheme

  1. Go to the Official Website
    Open www.pmyp.gov.pk and click on the Laptop Scheme section.
  2. Register or Log In
  • If you’re new, sign up using your CNIC, email, and phone number.
  • If already registered, log in with your credentials.

    Provide accurate personal, academic, and university details.
  2. Submit the Form
    Review all the entered information and click Submit. You’ll see your application status as Applied.
  3. Complete Verification
    Some students may be asked to visit a NADRA e-Sahulat Center for biometric verification.
  4. Check Your Application Status
    Log in regularly to track your progress

  2. In the search box, type the name of your department or the focal person’s name.

Note: If the department is listed as “For All”, it means the person is the main focal person for the entire university and handles all departments.

User Roles:

  • Super Focal Person:
    Appointed by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), this user serves as the admin and is responsible for managing all operational and system-related tasks.
  • Departmental Focal Person:
    Assigned by the Super Focal Person based on university departments, this user is responsible for verifying and correcting student records.

I am a university student. Can you please guide me on how to apply for the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme?

If you are a university student and want to apply for the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme, please visit the Students’ Service Portal at

Register on the portal to qualify based on the defined eligibility and merit criteria.

If you already registered or validated your record during Phase II of the scheme, simply log in and update your profile to apply for the current phase.

I’m a BS student in the 7th semester with a 65% GPA in the 6th semester. Am I eligible to get a laptop under the PM Youth Laptop Scheme?

The eligibility criteria consider only the CGPA (Cumulative GPA of all previous semesters).

I’m a student at a public sector university, but it’s not on the eligible list, while others are. Can you explain why our university is excluded?

I want to know if orphans pursuing graduation are eligible to receive a laptop under the scheme.

Eligible students can apply for the scheme; however, the scheme does not reserve a separate quota for orphans.

Can you please tell me which students qualify for the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme?

All students enrolled in a public sector HEI as of March 30, 2025, who meet the eligibility criteria, are eligible to apply. However, laptops will be awarded based on the distribution policy and merit criteria (if applicable).

How will I know if I’m selected?

What does it mean if my status is disapproved?

“Disapproved” means your university’s focal person has rejected your application due to issues such as incorrect academic records, misconduct, or other discrepancies.

Can someone else collect the laptop on my behalf?

No, your presence is mandatory. You must be available at the given date, time, and venue to receive the laptop. If you miss the distribution, contact your university within 10 working days; otherwise, you will lose your entitlement to the award.

My status shows I’m selected. When will I receive my laptop?

Laptops will be distributed by your university according to a scheduled distribution plan. You will receive an email with the date, time, and venue for collection. For more information, please contact your university’s focal person.

Can I use my father’s CNIC during registration?

No, students must use their own CNIC, mobile number, and email address when registering. This information is essential for further processing. Providing incorrect or false details may result in the cancellation of your registration.

My department is not listed on the registration portal. What should I do?

If your department or program is missing, please contact your university’s focal person. They will update the list as per the defined criteria.
