CM Punjab Apni Zameen Apna Ghar Program

CM Punjab Apni Zameen Apna Ghar Program: The Punjab government has taken a revolutionary step by launching the “Apni Zameen Apna Ghar” scheme for people who have been dreaming of their own home for years, but a lack of financial resources has been an obstacle in their path. Launched under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, this project is not only an attempt to provide houses but also a step towards social equality and a welfare state.

Under this scheme, the government is providing free 3 marla plots to eligible and deserving families, so that they can build their own residence. These plots are being given in those districts of the province where land is available and access to basic amenities is possible. The aim of this initiative is not just to provide land but also to pave the way for building houses.

How to Apply

The government has introduced a simple and transparent system to apply. Citizens can submit their application online by visiting the government portal. The following steps are required to apply:

  • Enter your CNIC number and mobile number.
  • Provide personal information, family circumstances, and income details.
  • Upload the necessary documents (e.g., CNIC, proof of residence, and NSER number).

Loan facility

After allotment of the plot, if an individual needs financial assistance to build a house, the government will also provide an interest-free loan facility. The limit of this loan can be up to Rs 15 lakh, which will be repaid in easy monthly installments. This will enable the poor to build their house without financial pressure.

The government has fixed the loan repayment period as 7 years, and in some cases, a grace period is also being given, which means that the installment will not have to be paid for the first few months.

Transparency and Monitoring

To ensure transparency in this project, an eight-member monitoring committee has been formed in each district, which will work on drawing lots, examining applications, and redressing complaints. After allotment of the plot, it has also been stipulated that:

  • The construction of the house should start within 6 months.
  • The complete construction should be done within 2 years.
  • The plot cannot be sold or rented for 5 years.

These steps are being taken so that the plots are not misused and only the real beneficiaries can benefit from them.

Hope for the future

This scheme is not just a plan to provide land, but an attempt to turn a dream into a reality. If this scheme continues successfully, millions of families who are living in slums or rented houses today will be able to build their own houses in the future. This will not only reduce the housing crisis but also create new employment opportunities, as many sectors benefit from construction work.

Conclusion

The “Apni Zameen Apna Ghar” scheme is a revolutionary project aimed at providing basic needs like land and a house to the common man. Although the scheme is still in its early stages, the way the government has introduced it systematically and transparently suggests that its scope will be further expanded in the future.
