A grand mass wedding ceremony of 58 couples was held in Rahim Yar Khan under the Dhi Rani Program, in which the brides were not only given gifts worth Rs 2 lakh and a bridal pair, but each couple was also provided with an ATM card worth Rs 1 lakh. Punjab Social Welfare Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt said on this occasion that the “Dhi Rani Program” is a historic welfare project, through which more than 1400 daughters have been married so far. The Punjab government has ensured that no daughter sits on the doorstep of her house due to dowry or financial problems but starts her new journey with honor and dignity.
