How to apply for the Kisan Card

There are two ways to apply for the Kisan Card, which are as follows:

  • One is the 8070 web portal
  • The other is through SMS.

One is the 8070 web portal

In this method, you must have an Android mobile. First, go to the 80 70 portal and enter the 13-digit ID card number in it and click on the Find button.

The Other Is Through SMS

In this method, you must have a balance on your mobile. First, open your message box, enter your 13-digit short card number in it, and send it to 8070.

Eligibility Criteria for Kisan Card

Farmers who own between 1 acre and 12.5 acres of land are eligible to apply for the Punjab Kisan Card. To qualify:

  • Applicants must obtain proof of cultivation from the Razi Record Center.
  • They must also register their mobile number under their own CNIC.
  • If your CNIC has expired, renew it before applying.
  • Land ownership records must be accurate and updated at the Land Record Center.

After completing these steps, re-register your CNIC within 24 hours and send an SMS to 8070 to proceed with your Kisan Card application.

Where can you get a Kisan Card?

Once your application for the Chief Minister Punjab Kisan Card is approved, the Bank of Punjab will issue your card. Here’s how the process works:

  1. SMS Notification:
    After approval, you will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number. This message will inform you that your Kisan Card is ready and will mention the specific BOP branch where you can collect it.
  2. Visit the Mentioned BOP Branch:
    Go to the Bank of Punjab branch mentioned in the SMS. Make sure to take your original CNIC and the SMS confirmation with you.
  3. Biometric Verification:
    At the branch, staff will verify your identity through a biometric fingerprint scan before handing over the card.
  4. Card Activation:
    Once received, the Kisan Card will be activated either on the spot or through an SMS instruction, enabling you to use it for subsidies, loans, and agriculture-related purchases.
  5. Usage:

The Kisan Card can then be used to:

  • Access government subsidies on fertilizers and seeds
  • Apply for interest-free loans

When will Kisan cards start being issued?

  • Improved coordination with Land Record Centers and Razi Record Centers for faster verification.
  • Card distribution under Phase 2 will officially begin on August 14, 2025.
