Ration Card for Suthra Punjab Workers
On July 11, 2025, Punjab’s Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique announced that the government will now include workers from the Suthra Punjab program in the Chief Minister’s Ration Card Scheme. This was shared during the opening of a new institute at Seven Secrets.
He said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has specially approved this step to help sanitation and environmental workers by improving their financial situation.
Zeeshan Rafique also promised to run the ration card program in a well-organized and transparent way.

Suthra Punjab: Sanitation and Environmental Reform Project
Suthra Punjab is a sanitation and environmental improvement project that began across Punjab on December 3, 2024.
This program introduces modern systems for solid waste collection, city and village cleaning using advanced machinery, GPS, and mobile tracking for monitoring, as well as door-to-door garbage collection.
The project has a budget of Rs 120 billion, has created over 100,000 jobs, and has set up control rooms and digital monitoring systems throughout the province.
Ration Card Scheme
On April 30, 2025, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a monthly subsidy of Rs 3,000 for industrial and social security workers under the Ration Card Scheme. The support is provided through the JS Bank Zindagi Card.
The scheme is aimed at helping over 1.25 lakh families and comes with a total budget of Rs 84 billion.
