The Family Registration Certificate is an official record provided by NADRA that outlines the composition of a family based on registered data. Immigration, visa, and embassy processes commonly require the FRC. However, it does not serve as a legal document for judicial or administrative matters.
Detailed and Informative Family Registration Certificate
NADRA issues the Family Registration Certificate (FRC) to outline the details of all registered family members as recorded in the national database. It provides verified information about parents, spouses, and children, helping to establish family relationships. Although widely used for embassy applications, foreign visa processes, and higher education abroad, the FRC does not carry legal standing for property claims or court cases.
Types of Family Registration Certificate and Eligibility
You can apply for an FRC in one of the following three categories, based on your family structure:
- By Birth – Displays the details of your parents and siblings as registered with NADRA.
- By Marriage – Includes information about your spouse and children.
- By Adoption – Shows the details of your legal guardian and adopted family members.
Eligibility
All individuals included in the FRC must register with NADRA and possess a valid 13-digit CNIC or B-Form. NADRA will not include any unregistered family member in the certificate.

Types of FRC Applications
You can apply for an FRC under any of the following three categories, depending on your family situation:
- By Birth: Reflects information about your parents and siblings.
- By Marriage: Includes your spouse and children.
- By Adoption: Contains details of your legal guardian and adopted family members.
Note: Each family member must register with NADRA and have a valid 13-digit CNIC or B-Form. NADRA will exclude any unregistered member from the FRC.
How to Apply for an FRC
You can apply for the FRC through two channels:
1. NADRA Registration Center
Visit your nearest NRC and follow the steps based on your category:
Birth
- Collect a token.
- The staff will take a photograph of the child.
- They will enter and verify the required data.
- They will print and issue your FRC.
By Marriage
- If your children are under 18, they must be physically present.
- Collect a token.
- The staff will enter and verify your information.
- They will capture photographs of any minors.
- They will print and issue your FRC on the spot.
- If your children are 18 or older, you only need to provide your data.
By Adoption
- The adopted child (under 21 years) must be present.
- Collect a token.
- The staff will take a photograph of the child.
- They will enter and verify the required data.
- They will print and issue your FRC.

- At NADRA Registration Center:
NADRA processes and issues your Family Registration Certificate immediately during your visit. - Via Pak Identity Mobile App:
You will receive a digital PDF copy of your FRC via email within 24 hours after successfully submitting your application.
Required Documents for Family Registration Certificate (FRC)
FRC by Birth
To apply for an FRC under the Birth category, you will need:
- 13-digit ID numbers of all family members (CRC, CNIC, NICOP, or POC).
- Accurate name spellings that match NADRA’s records.
- Photographs of all family members under 18 years of age.
- Important: If any family member is unregistered or their record is incomplete, their details will not appear on the FRC. It is advised to update ID cards or registration before applying.
- If a family member holds a POC, they must be the one to apply and add other family members as relatives.
FRC by Marriage (Spouse & Children)
For an FRC under the Marriage category, ensure the following documents:
- 13-digit ID numbers of your spouse and children (CRC, CNIC, NICOP, or POC).
- Name spellings must exactly match NADRA records.
- Photographs of all children under 18 years of age.
- Note: Unregistered or incomplete profiles will not be shown in the FRC. Make sure all records are updated before applying.
- If a POC holder exists in the family, they must initiate the FRC application and include other members as relatives.

- The Family Registration Certificate (FRC) is provided in PDF format, which you can download and print as needed.
- You can only correct the English spellings of names; the FRC process does not allow full name changes.
