PM New Electric Vehicle Policy 2025–30: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently formally announced Pakistan’s first National Electric Vehicle Policy 2025-30, the main objective of which is to promote alternative energy sources in the country, reduce dependence on fuel, and reduce environmental pollution. The slogan of this policy, “Safar Badle Ga, Pakistan Badle Ga,” is not only symbolic but also a promise of a better, sustainable, and modern Pakistan.

Phase One (2025-26) — Launch of Electric Travel

In the first phase of the policy, the following electric vehicles will be provided on subsidized and easy installments from 2025 to 2026:

  • 40,000 electric motorcycles
  • 1,000 electric rickshaws
  • 1,000 electric cars

This initiative is a revolutionary step towards energy conservation, reduction in fuel imports, and environmental protection in Pakistan. This distribution of electric vehicles is not only a technological change but also a positive step for employment, the economy, and public welfare.

  • Monthly installment is only Rs. 2,000
  • The running range on a battery charge of about 80 kilometers
  • Cost per charge only less than Rs. 20

These figures reflect that the government is taking serious steps to provide financial facilities to citizens, especially to the youth, women, working class, and students, to move towards economic self-sufficiency.

Application procedure and deadline

Applications for the first phase can be submitted till September 30, 2025. A transparent draw will be held to select selected in this phase, which will be based on a journey of 1048 kilometers. The aim is to give priority to those who travel more and for whom fuel efficiency is more important.
