Shelter & Winter Kits for Pakistan

To help the needy during the harsh winter season, the King Salman Relief Center has started distributing 84,500 shelter and winter kits for Pakistan. The project is for the poor and needy families who may affected by the severe cold. The charity campaign aims to provide basic necessities to people living in the snowy and coldest areas of Pakistan so that they can stay safe and warm.

In a grand ceremony held in Islamabad, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, Federal Minister of Pakistan Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Director of King Salman Relief Center Pakistan Abdullah Al-Baqmi officially inaugurated the project. The ceremony highlighted the strong brotherly relations and welfare initiatives between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, under which emphasis was placed on directly benefiting the deserving people.

In the first phase, 50,000 winter kits are being distributed in 50 severely cold districts of the country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Sindh, and Punjab. Each winter kit includes two blankets, warm shawls for men and women, and warm clothing for children and adults so that these people can better cope with the cold weather.

This project is being completed in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Provincial Disaster Management Authorities, and local administrations, so that aid reaches the deserving in a transparent manner. More than 591,500 people will benefit from this welfare campaign, which shows that Saudi Arabia and the King Salman Relief Center are continuously playing their role in the spirit of humanitarian compassion in Pakistan.

Phase 1: Winter Kits Distribution

The first phase focuses on the immediate distribution of 50,000 winter kits to families living in Pakistan’s 50 coldest and snow-covered districts. The allocation of winter kits is as follows:

  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 16,000 kits
  • Balochistan: 12,000 kits
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 10,000 kits
  • Jammu and Kashmir: 6,000 kits
  • Sindh: 4,000 kits
  • Punjab: 2,000 kits

Each winter kit includes essential items such as:

  • Two blankets
  • Warm shawls for men and women
  • Winter clothing for children and adults

Phase 2-4: Shelter Kits Distribution

The remaining 34,500 shelter kits will reserved for disaster response and distributed in three additional phases. These kits will be strategically allocated to affected regions and are expected to be fully distributed by December 2025.

To ensure transparency and efficiency, the project will executed in collaboration with key national and local organizations, including:

  • National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA)
